The ingredients are not too many, but just about enough. Take the U.S. Beef Tri Tip out of the tray. Each tray has 2 small steaks inside. Season with salt. Leave for a short time while you take care of the side dish. Take the "Romen" or gem lettuce, cut in the middle, spread some butter on the inside. Bring your pan to high heat and sear the steaks and side for about 2 minutes on each side.
Get a baking tray and place a rack on it. Place beef and side and bake for about 8 minutes at 180 degrees C. When you take the steak out of the oven and slice it against the grain (!), the colour of the meat must be pink.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Get a cold beer or a nice glass or red wine.
